Coyne Fine Art is proud to present a broad selection of paintings and works on paper created between 2016 and 2025 by Carlos Matul. An American-Guatemalan artist currently living and working in New York, Matul graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014. His work ranges from the very minimal to the highly expressive, typically in the abstract mode, combining a sincere devotion to art making with fantastic intuition and a light, lyrical touch. Given the breadth of his practice, this exhibition will take place across several rooms in a hybrid apartment setting. It is very exciting to host Carlos for both his first show in New York and our inaugural show.
